A. Yes. Our policy allows anyone over 18 years of age who is physically fit and mobile to walk across the hot coals.
A. Some people have burnt when they walked across hot coals, however, of the millions of people throughout the world that have walked through the ambers on a very small percentage of people have suffered any serious burns. There is no scientific reason why some people get burnt and others don’t. We believe, like many other trained Fire Walk Instructors, that with the right mind set and positive belief in yourself, you will be able to walk across the hot coals unharmed.
A. Flaming Success are committed to giving every participant attending the opportunity to Walk on Fire and experience the profound impact that overcoming fear can have on an individual. A. Have you taken part in a fire walk with thousands of other participants in a car park? This description may paint an uninspiring image of what other Fire Walk organizers have to offer, however, many people experience a huge shift when they have attended such an event. We offer you something far more exciting and primal that the more common and conventional Fire Walk. We offer you a Fire Walk in an inspirational location, back to nature and more connected with Mother Earth. Our events are more spiritual and holistically focused than other Fire Walk Events. We want to empower you and give you a total sensory experience that will get you out of your head and into your body.
A. Firewalking classes open to the public usually have coal beds between 8 and 12 feet long.
A. The official world record is currently 220 ft. However, a number of people have also walked a 40 ft coal bed, back and forth, without leaving the coals, 13 times: accomplishing a 520-foot fire walk.
A. Incense cedar or white birch produce the best coal beds. Some other woods either reduce themselves to ash too quickly, produce sharp-edges on the coals, or exude sap and gum that can stick to a person's foot.
A. Contrary to the view of many skeptics, there is definitely an inherent risk when fire walking. For this reason, people are advised to only participate in fire walking classes conducted by Firewalking Institute of Research & Education (F.I.R.E.) certified instructors. Tolly Burkan founded F.I.R.E over 15 years ago and we are certified F.I.R.E. Instructors.

A. There is not one specific answer to this question as Fire Walking actually predates written history. There are accounts of Fire Walking among the Hawaiian Kahuna, who walked across hot lava flows. The Vikings are reported to have walked on red-hot steel chains. Native Americans carry out Fire Walks and Fijians also walk across hot stones. A number of Christian saints were said to have Fire Walked. Fire Walking has taken part across the globe throughout history and seems to be a part of many diverse cultures on a number of continents.
A. Individual instructors each have their own policy regarding the issue of children attending the class. Participants have ranged in age from 4 years old to 89 years old. At smaller events Flaming Success will allow children to attend but not allow them to actually walk. This has to be pre agreed with Flaming Success on an individual basis. Just being present, and witnessing others walk, can be a life-changing experience for children.
